What is StoryNet?

StoryNet is a place to discover new stories, books, albums and visual arts from the independent designers, authors, and musicians in your community.

What is Storyteller Magazine?

StoryNet is also the home of a curated collection of award winning short stories from the vaults of Storyteller Magazine. Each story on this site  includes the original artwork from the issue cover and the pen and ink illustration from each story. Thanks to Storyteller Magazine’s writers and artists for making this fantastic collection available to a new generation of readers who may have missed these classics the first time around..

An ‘all-you-can-eat fiction buffet’

Think of StoryNet’s short story collection as an all-you-can-eat entertainment buffet with something for all tastes. An oyster bar (romance) meat loaf (mystery) duck liver (horror) and orange jello (humour) You get the idea. And while we’ve got plenty of mysteries and dramas, we know that humour is in high demand, so you’ll find lots of laughter here, and a big helping of ‘feel-good fiction’.

A unique collection of characters

You’ll meet an impressive array of characters – unlikeables, like taxmen, hangmen, stalkers, thieves and rustlers – people who will go to any lengths to get what they want. And in the true spirit of entertainment, you’ll get to enjoy the payoff of watching them get their comeuppance (or not). And of course, there’s also plenty of grey and white hats, who find themselves in all manners of situations that make for great entertainment.

And so much more

Of course, StoryNet is not only about short stories. To keep you entertained and informed, each month we’ll introduce you to a new collection of local artists, and give you a chance to sample their new books, albums or other works.
